The Veillard couple got married at the time when Franklin
D. Roosevelt was elected as president, back in November 1932. They probably did
not expected that they would live this long and that they would live up to this
age together.
This pair is a real example couples talk of their vows
wedding day, spending the rest of their lives together. Veillard have five
children. Back in 1968 Duranord lose his job as a judge and was awarded a visa
to visit the United States. They decided to move there and settled in Spring
Valley. In the United States he found a new job as a laboratory technician at
Good Samaritan Hospital, where he stayed and worked for a period of ten years
and then retired. Today, they live together with their daughter, Marie
Veillard.
At the moment when you read that they have remarkable 213
years together, you surely wanted to discover their secret about their
long-lasting love and happiness and how did they manage to stay calm and happy
family. It is interesting to mention that Duranord Veillard explains that is
God’s thing. This year, they celebrated incredible 82 years of marriage.
Others describe Duranord as virtuous and honorable man.
Their son, Vely Veillard who is 62 years old, says that there was an interview
at the ceremony where his father told the reporter that he can remember every
detail of his life and tell them all about their memories. He adds that he
offered the reporter a piece of his birthday cake, which was frosted and at the
top and there was a candle with the number 108. Jeanne Veillard was sitting
next to him and wore white linen dress and a pair of pink slippers, not letting
go of his hand. The reported asked her to tell him how she met her husband. She
said that this has happened in the street.
According to Veillard family, Duranord and Jeanne are the
oldest married couple in the region. It is amazing that they have 12
grandchildren and even 1 great grandchild. It is truly incredible that every
morning, Veillard wakes up at five in the morning and works out. After that he
drinks a cup of tea, eats oatmeal and fresh fruit for breakfast. They explain
that very often they consume fish and fresh vegetables for lunch and dinner
respectfully, and go to bed really early. Most of their time, the Veillard
couple spends indoors because they cannot walk without assistance and they
