We buy commercial cosmetic products on a daily basis, but
numerous of them can be dangerous to health, as they are loaded with harmful
chemicals.
Today, we
are going to warn you about the use of a popular deodorant for men, Axe.The effects of these deodorants are advertised to be able to make men attractive to women. Yet, most women actually hate its smell! However, the biggest concerns are not related to this, but to the effects of this deodorant to our health and wellbeing.
This is the explanation from the Endocrine Society:
“Endocrine disruptors have effects on
male and female reproduction, breast development and cancer, prostate cancer,
neuroendocrinology, thyroid, metabolism and obesity, and cardiovascular
endocrinology.”
However, the Axe products contain
even more dangerous ingredients:
Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex
Gly
This is the active antiperspirant
ingredient, which clings to the underarm to prevent wetness within the next 24
hours. Yet, the skin easily absorbs aluminum ions, so they accumulate over time
and cause breast cancer, nerve damage, kidney damage, and Alzheimer’s.
BHT
BHT is an antimicrobial
preservative, but it is easily absorbed into the skin, and then causes cancer,
organ damage, and reproductive toxicity.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine
Cocamidopropyl betaine is
responsible for the foamy nature of some Axe products. However, it interacts
with other chemicals and creates nitrosamines, most of which are detrimental to
health as they are extremely carcinogenic. Researchers state that they cause
more than 40 types of cancer in animals and humans alike.
PPG-14 Bustyl Ether
If the armpits are kept unnaturally
dry, they tend to accumulate static cling, and this paraben reduces it.
However, it can be found in 99% of all breast cancer tissue.
Hence, in order to prevent any
adverse effects and still smell fresh and nice under the armpits, you can find
some natural deodorant recipe and make your own, homemade one, or try some
other ways to deodorize the body.
